That feeling after you've accomplished something you worked so hard for and you're doing EXACTLY what you want is indescribable...
whatever this feeling is,
 I think I love it!
Never let anyone discourage you from following your dreams.  You'll be surprised what you can accomplish when you tune out all of the noise and just focus.
Everything you need to do in order to achieve your dreams is already instinctively inside of you.  Follow that instinct and it will guide you to your destiny. -@iamashcash
I'm not sure about you, but I'm trying to be great!

Flashback: School of Style Graduate Mixer (2012)

Explaining my 'situation' lol

 Taking in ALL the knowledge
Daria Hines and I.  She's styled: Fergie, Justin Bieber, MIA, Faith Evans, Marc Antony, Mary J. Blige, John Meyer, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Celine Dion, Usher, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and Celine Dion
She was SUPER dope!
Luke, Lauren, and I at SOS's 5th Birthday Party

Just ran across these pics (that I never posted...go figure -_-) from a couple years ago as I was searching through my archives for a job I'm currently prepping for.  I stopped working to post these because I had a flashback to this day and figured I should probably share.

I was invited to the SOS graduate mixer approximately one month after moving to LA.  This was the first time they were having an event of this nature and was a way to quote re-connect with all of our movers and shakers and for all of you to meet each other. End quote.  I responded to the email on a whim because I definitely was not moving or shaking anything after being in LA for one month.  Then I thought what the hell just respond to the email Alexis...after all this is the sole reason you moved here in the first place!  After a couple weeks passed I figured I wasn't one of the chosen because quote we only have room for 50 people, and we have 750 graduates. End quote.  I went about my business.  Approximately three days before the event I received an email confirming my attendance.  Needless to say I was a bit surprised/excited for a split second then immediately went into panic mode lol.  Omg what am I going to wear? What am I going to do with my hair? I'm SO fat right now and quote Our staff photographer Ryan Cleveland will be on deck to take FREE portraits of you for your personal marketing. end quote  -_-  REALLY?!

I begin doubting myself ...This must be some mistake. Why would they choose me? I haven't even worked one styling job yet?  What am I going to say if someone asks what I've been working on?  All of these negative, ugly thoughts about why I didn't deserve to be there.  I was wrong.  I couldn't see my purpose for being there but Someone did.

While at the event Luke had everyone introduce themselves and share what they've been working on since graduating SOS.  After listening to all of the other the graduates before me, I was the second to last to go, I was incredibly inspired and then it dawned on me THAT'S why I'm here.  I needed positive reinforcement that everything was going to be ok.  When it was my turn I was honest.  I told everyone that I hadn't worked on any jobs because I'd just moved but was looking forward to getting started.  Everyone was incredibly supportive and encouraged me beyond what I could have ever imagined.  It 's one thing to get encouragement from family and friends (which is great!).  But, it's quite another to get encouragement from your peers, people who've recently gone through exactly what you're about to go through.  Hearing their success stories took my mind completely off of my doubt and fears and I realized my desire to succeed was much greater than fear of failure.

I'm so thankful I was able to attend this event.  I'm certain its what jump started this incredible journey I'm on!  :)

2013 Year End Report

Whirlwind. That's the word I would use to describe this year...its been absolutely amazing! I’m beyond thankful for every single opportunity, experience, job lead, reference, and relationship I’ve been blessed with this year. I’ve met some amazing people and been around the world and back, twice.  My initial purpose for this blog was to document my journey of becoming a fashion stylist (which I’ve sucked at btw…Sorry, I’ve been a bit busy).  I had no pre-determined thoughts about who I wanted to work with, what type of styling I wanted to do, nothing. I just knew I wanted to be a stylist, and I was willing work my ass off until it happened.  Well, not only did it happen, but it happened in a way that was insane!  I found myself saying “Am I really doing this?”, “Is this really happening right now?” A LOT!!! I’ve only scratched the surface in terms of how far I still have to go, but I’m extremely happy with the progress I’ve made in this short time.  I’ve compiled a list of various people, places, and things I’ve experienced this year working as an assistant stylist!

Cali-Life'n it in Tokyo
So, I just  got back from Japan a couple days ago and the jet lag still hasn't worn off.  I thought now would be a great time to update my blog since I can't sleep, and I can never find any other time to do it!
First off, Japan is EVERYTHING!!! If you can't tell from the pics I had THE best time! I worked there for three weeks which still wasn't enough time to soak in all the culture...its just that rich.  So many places to go and things to see.  And the fashion is on another planet!! I have to go back just for shopping alone!  The people are amazing.  Everything is clean, like really clean (you'll notice it trust me).  Freshest sushi in the world. I could go on for daaaayyyss.  Such a great trip.
Experiences like these are even better when you have experienced the absolute worst.  Thank you China lol.
:))

International Travel: China

All smiles on the first day of work in China...boy was I in for it.  HA!
Yes. That is the tongue ripped out of an $800 Ferragamo shoe.  BSB Wardrobe crisis averted with the help of an outstanding shoe repairman who saved the day.  Thank God everything is made in China, shoe is still good to this day and we just finished the third leg!

"Outchea thuggin in these Chinese streets....no really -_-"

Long story short..I'm not one to make something appear what its not.  China was one of the absolute worst experiences of my life (excluding the Great Wall which was one of the best).  I didn't immediately post pics because I wanted no parts of that place. Yes, it was that bad.  However, there were a few highlights I'd like to share now that I've gotten over it. The Great Wall of China was an out of body experience, one of the best so far hands down.  If you like culture, history, adventure and a great workout add this to your bucket list ASAP!  Shanghai and Guangzhou were cute as well.

OMG! Has It Really Been SIX Months?!

 **Infamous red doors to....**
This day was fuuuunn :))
Dapper Gentlemen of GQ at Emporio Armani event in Beverly Hills, CA
 Backstreet Boys Press

I just wanted to share a few of the jobs/events that have kept me busy over the past few months.  Incredibly blessed to see my vision slowly coming together!  There were days when I thought "WTF am I doing?" but quitting was never an option for me, and as a result I've been presented with some pretty amazing opportunities!
God. Is. Everything.
